Vertigo Theatre is located at the base of the Calgary Tower in downtown Calgary. The theatre is home to the BD&P Mystery Theatre Series which Laura and I enjoy.
Wait Until Dark, by Frederick Knott and adapted by Jeffery Hatcher, is the current production running from January 21 – February 19, 2017. The play takes place in Greenwich Village in New York City.
The story-line is about a blind woman that finds herself being terrorized by three men but quickly realizes that she can use her blindness and her other heightened senses to defend herself.
The set design was true to the era. The music, sound, and lighting effects enhanced the experience.
It was very easy for the audience to become engaged with the characters. The actress portraying the blind woman was truly amazing. She moved around the set as one would expect from a person with a no vision.
The play has many twists and turns and the ending is very powerful. This is a must see play for anyone who enjoys the Murder Mystery genre.
Bolide Rating: 4.5 out of 5
So, you may be wondering what a bolide is. A bolide is an astronomical term used to describe a very bright meteor or fireball that streaks across the sky. Seeing a bolide in the night sky is an amazing event. Thus the higher the bolide rating, the more we enjoyed the event.
